“Feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf”, Jonatan Mårtensson…
Today, I am writing about one such feeling, one such emotion….an emotion so strong that it has almost hit me like the waves of tsunami...And it has left me 'numb'... a sense of void has filled me up after following on a regular basis with all that is happening in our country. This feeling of numbness and void is filling me up with anger….and I choose today…to surf this wave of anger and not let it pass…
Every time there is a terrorist attack innocent people die and the one’s who were lucky not to have been present in that particular place, in that particular moment, watch helplessly pictures and images of the bombs going off, gun-fire, people being killed, bloodshed. There are also people who loose their loved ones in these ghastly incidents…for them it is a just a lifetime of pain and memories…
While I saw the macabre acts on Mumbai...devastating our financial capital...bringing it down to its knees for almost 4 days... It was horrifying to watch people being killed indiscriminately. Held hostage and then losing their valuable lives, I cannot stop but question what did they do wrong? Something inside tells me, they were all at the wrong place at the wrong time. But is it supposed to be like that in a civilized democratic setup? At least that’s what we claim to be. Don’t we? Did they deserve it? No they didn’t. But it still happened. It is time we all realized that nobody is safe anymore. Anybody could be a victim of it...even for me as I sit here writing this, maybe my fate is being tested...My fate is being tested, because as a citizen of this Nation I do not feel that we have a single true Leader, a single true Statesman who has the will do to something about it…I wonder how they can come and give insensitive comments on television, show blatant disrespect to the brave martyrs, show incorrigible disregard to public anger and frustration, laugh at and ridicule people showing peaceful protest!!!
Yes, as citizens we have a duty too, to see to it that the leaders we choose to rule the nation are people who are good for the country, but the sad part is they all are the same. The citizens are utterly disillusioned today….
There are comments being made by the politicians…”Don’t blame us”…
They better take the blames being hurled at them seriously, because it’s apparent that they haven’t performed…these are the same people who beg for our votes and when they are elected or they reach the Parliament they forget their duties. They are the same people who are all ready to enjoy the benefits of just being a politician…. ’Z’ category security, and so many other perks, which are seriously a waste on them. They better perform and if they don’t they better take moral responsibilities and step down and let a person who is better equipped to take the charge.
It’s totally sad that even though common people of our country from different religion, caste, creed and region are walking hand in hand to fight terrorism and want the entire world to know that we are one Nation, the politicians are still playing vote politics.
Please, if you cannot do anything constructive do not dare to be destructive!!
I would like to take this opportunity to pray for the people who have died in these morbid attacks, show my solidarity with the people who have lost their loved ones, and salute the brave martyrs who have laid down their lives in the line of duty. I would also like to thank the media for taking a positive proactive role.
I pray to God that even though it took such a terrible attack on the soil of our Nation to bring all of us together once again, we don’t stop this citizen movement, value our independence and are ready to sacrifice few of our rights for the security of our Nation, are ready to send more of our children and if need be join the armed forces voluntarily, keep questioning the elected representatives and make them answerable to their duties and responsibilities….and last but not the least never forget the sacrifice of innocent citizens and our brave soldiers. JAI HIND!!!

I agree with you, the citizens need to get united. Lets start by calling our selves INDIAN. Our states comes much later. But one thing is that our media also needs to be more matured, the way they were covering the news, it seemed as if there was some race happening among them. They should also know what to censor, when they show something like seize of Taj, Nariman Building, Oberoi, Trident, CST, Leopold live. It actually helped the terrorist to gauge the plans of our security forces. But in a whole they did a nice job.
